Cash Cards are a convenient way to ensure that your student has money for breakfast and lunch.
The Maggie L. Walker Cash Card Program has been in effect for 12 years and is very efficient. Students with a card enter the service line where they can order the hot lunch special of the day or serve themselves with a la carte items.
Cards can be purchased or reloaded any time the cafeteria is open; however, the best time to purchase or reload a cash card is in the morning during breakfast.
Cards can also be purchased or reloaded online through PayPal. Remind your student to let us know that mom or dad loaded a card online.
Since there is no tracking number linked to the cards, loading must be done manually.
While Cash Cards can be purchased or reloaded for any amount, we suggest that you start with no more than $50.00 at a time until you know your child's habits.
There is a $3.00 fee for new and/or replacement cards.
Cash cards have no tracking system.
Loaded card amounts can not be refunded. Card balances can carry over to the next school year; however, it is not encouraged.
To help safeguard your card, we suggest doing the following:
1. Write the student's name on the card in permanent marker.
2. Place a "sticky" picture of your student on the logo side of the card.
3. Try to keep your card in a consistent place (ex. wallet).
Parents have two options to add money onto their student's cash card:
You do not need a PayPal account, you may pay securely with your credit or debit card.
PayPal is a secure online Credit/Debit or PayPal account processing system.
